So you want to lose a few pounds and you have been told that not eating for a few days can help you achieve this and it is true you will lose weight but this is not the way to lose or control weight as any doctor will attest too. Although this may seem like a healthy way to lose weight, it is not and is more likely to cause sickness as your immune system becomes weaker.
Healthy weight loss and maintenance actually means to eat a healthy diet rich in the nutrients we need without excess calories. The correct diet is always supported by good sleeping habits and proper physical exercises that help you burn the extra fat deposits.
Often it is the women’s magazines which are too blame for promoting crazy diets based on little scientific fact expecting the overweight person to live on a specific type of food and then expect them to believe that this is a healthy weight loss plan. One of these methods is to eat only fruits, salads, chicken and boiled vegetables and while none of these are detrimental to your health, you will not receive all the nutrients your body needs from just these foods.
This type of diet will in actual fact usually fail not because the person does not feel any benefits from it, and they will, but because they will become sick and tired of the same diet every day. We all need to vary what we eat but if we avoid foods that are very high in calories (unless you are an athlete or have a highly physical job) and improve your daily activities plus have a regular sleep you will be most of the way to losing weight healthily.
Sleep is an amazingly important part of our lives, something which medical science is only just starting to understand but it is common amongst people with weight problems to feast during the night, often not remembering they have done it. This is a true crime against your body system because once you’re on a healthy, active diet; a lot of your energy will be consumed during physical exercises together with accumulated stress and anxiety.
The result will be not only weight loss, but better sleep quality and improved general health condition. Don’t demand to much from yourself as healthy weight loss takes time and the one thing that will slow it down or stop it altogether is the way you treat yourself so be positive. Try not to keep to the same routines when you exercise and not expect your body to perform at the same level all the time as this is an unrealistic approach that will do more harm than good. Why not build up your stamina and fitness level a little by carrying out some everyday activities first like walking or swimming for example. Remember to listen to your body and not overexert yourself and lose weight healthy.
