Loofah Sponges also known as body scrubbers are used firstly, to gently yet effectively exfoliate tired skin and secondly, to increase blood flow to all areas of the skin.

A loofah sponge is actually a plant seed pod. The “luffa” plant belongs to the cucumber family. The pollinated flowers of the plant grow into cylindrical green fruits that gradually grow into a fibrous seed pod or loofah. When these fruits mature they become a hard mass of cellulose fiber that can be used as a body scrubber or a back sponge.

Loofah Sponge’s other uses

Generally, Loofah Sponges have other applications other than as an exfoliating skin product. They can be cut into various dimensions and can be used as hot pads, bath mats, sandals, hats, dust pads etc. They are also used for washing items like large pots, containers, cars, non-stick cookware where these items cannot withstand hard scrubbing.

Loofah Sponges & Skin Exfoliation

But Loofah Sponges are largely used for skin exfoliation. Loofah Sponges are used in the process of exfoliation as back loofah and back sponges. The fibers present in the Loofah Sponges tend to remove the dead skin cells from the outermost surface of the skin and make your skin squeaky clean.

Loofah’s are extremely durable and long lasting, if correct care is taken, this includes drying between uses. Constant moisture will result in a loss of gentle exfoliation value.

Sponge colours vary from brown to white depending on whether the sponges are commercial or natural. Should you prefer a lighter colour, the sponges merely require treatment with a chlorine bleach solution for approximately an hour. Avoid over-bleaching as this will result in fibre weakness. Prolonged exposure to harsh sunlight on the other hand will make a loofah more rough.

Loofah Sponges are known throughout the world and forms an essential part of skin care routines for millions of satisfied users around the globe. But why is EuroScrub loofah different?: EuroScrub is more hygienic when compared to natural loofah because of its anti-bacterial and anti-fungal agent content deep within the fibre bonds.

EuroScrub also has larger pores which eliminates the risk of dead skin and toxin clogging within the fibres as is common with natural loofah’s. EuroScrub scrubbers are machine washable and last longer than natural loofah’s.
