How to get rid of acne safely and effectively is important to know and understand, especially when you or someone close to you begins to develop this common skin condition which is more widely known among physicians as Acne vulgaris. Though adolescents aren’t the only age group to suffer from it (adults get it to) they are more often associated with it, and their self-esteem is affected when they do.
For the most part, acne develops as a result of certain changes to structures of the skin just below the surface that support and surround a hair follicle. These follicles and support structures — especially the sebaceous glands — are usually afflicted most often by changes that eventually erupt into acne. The two most common types of acne are non-inflammatory and inflammatory.
Each of the two is classified by their severity. Non-inflammatory acne is generally easy to treat and get rid of in most people while inflammatory acne is more severe and may require more variation in treatment. Fortunately for most, they usually end up developing only the non-inflammatory type. For those who suffer from inflammatory acne, dermabrasion may be the only option that works.
This particular procedure consists of stripping or scraping away outer layers of skin to not only get rid of the bacteria but also to remove or severely reduce the number of sebaceous glands that are affecting the hair follicle and causing skin eruptions. It is used, usually, when no other treatment works and the inflammatory acne that it seeks to cure crops up often in adolescents.
Most of the time, acne is not physically dangerous to the person suffering from it and the worst result is usually scarring, which is bad enough. Rather, for those adolescents and others who suffer from self-esteem issues, acne can contribute to worsening of those issues. This is especially the case social insecurity, much of which is seen in high school-aged teens.
How to get rid of acne safely and effectively usually means learning about a few topical skin treatments or regimens that usually involve some sort of cream that is either anti-bacterial in nature or might have a prescription antibiotic within it. When neither of those two works, a mixture of the two could be prescribed or some sort of medication that is a bit more robust.
There are several other treatments, some consisting mainly of natural substances that have been proven to be effective, while others may consist of mixtures related to the chemical in aspirin. At any rate, people can do much to help themselves by changing certain behaviors such as cutting back on soda pop, chocolate or other foods that may cause in acne outbreak.
When done in conjunction with attention paid to making sure that the face or other area affected by acne is washed on a regular basis with quality soap and an anti-acne facial solution, there is great chance of success. However, if even that doesn’t work, dermabrasion — a cop was by a dermatologist — can be considered. So, knowing how to get rid of acne should serve to give some amount of comfort to those afflicted by it.
