Most people have at some point or the other had to face the problem of unwanted hair and have tried a number of techniques for hair removal. A lot of factors such as the area and amount of hair growth, your skin sensitivity and your skin type can decide the hair removal method best suited for you.
The most widely used technique of hair removal is shaving. Although shaving is effective and cheap, the flip side is that it is only short-term and you have to keep on shaving on a routine basis in order to ensure hair-free skin. For instance, men generally shave their facial hair on a daily basis. Shaving is also good for ridding areas such as chest or legs of hair.
Another alternative is waxing hair from the body. It is a messy procedure that can usually not be done at home without outside help. The advantage of waxing is that the removal of hair is done from its base and hence, it doesn’t grow back for around a fortnight, giving you a longer period of freedom from unwanted hair. But remember that waxing is a painful method and should not be carried out on sensitive body parts.
The third method is using a hair removal cream, which is easy to apply and can be used without external help. While this does not cause pain, the hair grows back quicker than in the case of waxing. There is further danger of rashes developing on the skin as a result of the constituents contained in the cream.
People having unbalanced hair growth can choose to get hair taken from higher hair density areas and get hair transplant done in parts with lesser growth. This is a complex process and must be applied only if there are no other alternatives.
Lastly, laser hair removal treatment can be tried, but it is very expensive. The primary benefit of laser treatment is its permanent results. But in order to avoid marks or other accidents, it should only be done by experienced specialists.
