Electronic cigarettes imported from China have grown in appreciation in the past many years and which has worried Fed regulators, in part, because so very little is commonly known about what’s in them.

The industry is suing the FDA, saying it shouldn’t be controlled like a drug. Walt Linscott, a solicitor for Smoking Everywhere one of 2 major importers of electronic cigarettes, cigars and pipes asserts the e-cigarette is a tobacco product. “It is a cigarette, and cigarettes inherent by their design and nature aren’t safe,” Linscott says. But as the company engages in a legal battle with the government , its own telemarketers might be presenting a different picture to customers, including selling claims on the web. A Smoking Everywhere representative making a sales pitch said the product had been licensed as safe by the FDA. Linscott announces that was a mistake which has been corrected.

The general perplexity as to whether e-cigarettes are safe inspired Oregon to get two travel centers to stop selling them in that state. Anti-smoking advocates, like John Banzhaf with Action on Smoking and Health, are putting force on the FDA to prohibit the products in the States “If nothing’s done to stop these and other similar products from being thrown on the market without any testing, without any warranties, without declaration or testing of ingredients, it fundamentally opens the market to having smokers serve as guinea pigs,” Banzhaf says.

Linscott says that was a mistake which has been corrected. The general misunderstanding as to whether e-cigarettes are safe prompted Oregon to get 2 travel centers to stop selling them in that state. Anti-smoking advocates, like John Banzhaf with Action on Smoking and Health, are putting stress on the FDA to ban the products in the States “If nothing is done to stop these and other similar products from being thrown on the market without any testing, without any warranties, without declaration or testing of ingredients, it fundamentally opens the market to having smokers serve as guinea pigs,” Banzhaf says.

Anti-smoking advocates, like John Banzhaf with Action on Smoking and Health, are putting strain on the FDA to prohibit the products in the USA “If nothing gets done to stop these and other similar products from being thrown on the market without any testing, without any warranties, without discovery or testing of ingredients, it essentially opens the market to having smokers serve as guinea pigs,” Banzhaf says.

Boston College College of Public Health professor Michael Siegel claims the FDA’s up to date buyer alert was tricking as the agency found low levels of cancer causing agents in e-cigarettes. The FDA’s Sharfstein explains it is early to claim e-cigarettes are much more safe till regulators know what’s in them.”It just could be that these products could help some folks give up smoking, in which case the makers have the chance to come to the FDA and demonstrate that with data,” he asserts. “It’s their obligation to prove that to market to the Yankee people.”.

Mirak writes articles that inform people about electronic cigarettes – work just like traditional cigarettes without the dangers and electronic cigarettes – the advantages
