People are always asking me questions about the various Martial Arts Weapons. Why are they odd shaped and does a person use them? What’s the best Weapon in Aikido, or Kenpo, or jujitsu, or whatever.

The truth of this is expressed in a concept so simple that most people never really figure it out. There is, you see, an easy way to understand what the various implements are, and this will give intuitive knowledge as to how they are used. That simple concept is…geometry.

A killing implement, no matter what the shape, is generally based on the idea of a straight line. The simplest and most basic straight line is a pole. The pole is designed for two specific things, poking and bashing.

Fasten a knife on the tip of the pole and you have a spear. Tassels, grips, guards, or whatever, this is really nothing more a pole with a sharp end. It is used for bashing of a delicate sort, and poking.

Cut that pole in two and sharpen it up a bit and you have a sword. A Chinese Tai Chi Chuan sword, commonly called a Jian, when you think about it, is a rather lengthy knitting needle. You can use the tip for extended and rather delicate bashing, as of the throat, or you can just poke with it.

Put a bend on that tai chi sword, thicken it up a it, and you have a sword a samurai might carry. Or a cutlass for a pirate, or some other type of sword. Great for poking, but bashing is what you use the thicker tool for.

Shorten the samurai sword and you have a knife. Good for poking and short range bashing, of a sort. Easily concealed, used to open boxes, and swell for quick surgery on that mugger who tries to take your wallet, grab your wife, invade your home, and so on.

So, knife to sword to pole to even gun…there is a line, usually straight, that is used. The line can be hinged not at all or many times (nunchucks or nine section staffs), or handled with little hand grips (a tonfa) poking out the side, and so on. And the geometry, the ultimate geometry of all martial arts weapons, is deciding whether the shape of the tool best supports poking or bashing.

There is much more to Martial Arts Weapons, and the most important work on their use, how to teach them, and so on, is available through the Blinding Steel course. Mouse on over to Monster Martial Arts.

Once my brother suddenly asked me where to buy Tasers after he came from his job, I realized that something was wrong. Evidently, the requirement for self-defense became extremely actual to him due to the fact a group of bullies harassed him on his way home that night.

Because I had much more spare time in my hands, he requested my assistance in collecting information about the Taser. I was pleased to oblige and went on the internet to discover exactly where to purchase Tasers. There were different Taser devices available however I was particularly attracted to the Taser C2. It appeared to be very reliable and current with its laser sight feature to aid the consumer in aiming accurately.

Police authorities say the Taser C2 has an nearly 100% effectiveness score. I figured that this is due mainly to the mixture of conventional stun gun technology and also the newest Electro-Muscular Disruption (EMD) technologies to ensure that an attacker will be stopped instantly.

Standard stun gun technology is utilized to disturb the sending of brain messages towards the muscle tissues, leading to a lack of muscle control. With contemporary EMD technology, a Taser can debilitate somebody whose body has a higher threshold for the electrical shock delivered by standard stun guns.

As soon as the button is pushed, the Taser C2 shoots out 2 darts that are linked to wire carrying 50,000 volts of pulsing current. As quickly as the darts hit the attacker, electrical power will override his nervous system and he is going to be incapacitated instantly. Because the Taser is really a non-lethal device, the results will probably be felt for several minutes only, but that will be enough time for the consumer to escape.

I wouldn’t have known that Tasers are much more effective than a 9 mm handgun had my brother not inquired about where to purchase Tasers. And even in case the aggressor wore two inch thick clothes, the darts can still pierce it and take him down.

I stumbled on two other Taser models, one of these being the Taser M26C. Patterned after the law enforcement model, the Superior Taser M26, it can make use of the same technology as what is utilized in law enforcement. Another is the Taser X26C, which makes use of a digital energy magazine as power supply and to keep track of its power use.

Not only did I discover where to buy Tasers however the options that were accessible to my brother. For instance, the Taser C2 with Laser Sight comes in black, blue, fashion pink, pink, red, silver and yellow whereas the Taser C2 without Laser Sight comes in black. The Taser X26C is offered in black, clear and yellow. The M26C is just accessible in black.

Majie B Meridth is a highly regarded specialist on Self Defense Products and offers a large assortment of stun guns, pepper sprays, individual alerts, Tasers & Mace. If you ever ask yourself where do I buy pepper spray, you now have a secure place to order.

Self defense is just one of those actions that everybody would prefer to do, but a majority of people don’t actually take time to start. One of the biggest factors I hear is insufficient time. A great deal of people only want to learn self-defense, they don’t want to go to class each week and make the time commitment that karate training entails. For many individuals, the alternative to traditional training is becoming karate online. With the innovations in video, training online has never been less difficult.

One more reason people stay away from taking classes is intimidation. No one truly wants to feel like a novice and entering a martial arts training center is really a brand new environment for most people. Walking into a dojang the very first time while folks are yelling and screaming may be extremely intimidating. What if you could be taught from home or even understand the basics before you walk through the door of a studio?

I wouldn’t know what style to practice, I am new to this! This is yet another legitimate reason I hear from those who would like to learn self defense but don’t know where to begin. There are literally tons of fighting styles out there and it can be tough to determine which one will provide you with the self-defense training you are looking for. What if you could choose the movements you desired to apply or better yet, have somebody take you step-by-step through the progression, from the comfort of your own residence?

Where should I head to practice, there’s a lot of training centers in the phone directory? Based on where you reside, how much traffic, plus the class times, it can be a long commute. Upon arriving at class early to warm-up, workout, and drive home, a large portion of your night will be gone. What if you were in the position to decide what time and where you trained?

There was a time when college classes online were considered a pipe dream, now millions of people all over the world take classes on the web. Martial Arts and self defense training are actually pursuing that same course. The benefits associated with learning a fighting system include more confidence, weight reduction, more energy, overall flexibility, and a whole lot more. If you have ever made any of these excuses, you really need to look at all of your choices for learning self-defense online.

Learning karate online has never been easier with Free Videos emailed to you each week! For additional training check out our Youtube Channel for self-defense videos and much more.

Both my parents are of Chinese descent but had settled in Chicago before I was born. You could say that I have spent my whole life in this town. As dear as it is to me, I would often recommend that people take extra caution when getting around.

I can say that this town is not the safest, being familiar with it my entire life. My profession in the past three years has been as a merchandiser for a clothing store.

My parents never allowed me to use public conveyances until I was in college. I decided to live independently when I started working. I found my own place that was a short distance from the store where I worked.

Owning an auto lessens the chances of being mugged but it is never totally. I take along for added safety a pepper spray defense key chain.

I was loading grocery bags into the auto once. Suddenly, two men tried attacking me. I right away took out my pepper spray defense key chain and sprayed it on them before they could pull off anything mean. It was attached conveniently to my keys.

I was able to buy the ideal pepper spray defense key chain for my lifestyle only after combing online thoroughly. I focused on several Wildfire 18% Pepper Spray products, every one of them rated at 3 million Scoville heat units for curbing any assailant.

Between the 1.5 oz Wildfire 18% Pepper Spray and the 1/2 oz Wildfire 18% Pepper Spray, I opted for the previous one that was more difficult to lose. I am not exactly what you would call organized and it is not beyond me to forget things.

The best for me as a pepper spray defense key chain as it is quickly affixed to my bag or keys is the 1.5 oz variation. It never occurred to me how significant it is to have this device is until I myself was attacked.

Darral C Haecker has been training people how to use self defense products to defend themselves for years. There are multiple selections, among them stun guns, pepper sprays and personal alarms. He provides full assistance and preparation on how to use the products.

After months of waiting for a job as a nurse, I thought that going with a medical mission to a poor community would be worth my while. I would gain experience and I could be of help to people who cannot pay me.

After months of waiting for a job as a nurse, I thought that going with a medical mission to a poor community would be worth my while. I would gain experience and I could be of help to people who cannot pay me.

The area was full of poor people and they expressed their gratitude for our presence even if it was short-lived. They badly needed the medical services that we offered to them.

Criminality is always a problem in areas where the poverty rate is high. I must make sure that I am protected from untoward incidents.

Stunguns are my choice of protection. I carry with me all the time the Pretender 4.5 Million Volt Cell Phone Stun Gun and made sure that it was part of my pack as I left for the medical mission.

I have always used stunguns since you do not have to aim to trigger it. With my Pretender 4.5 million volt Cell Phone stun gun, I have a discreet weapon that does not invite any suspicion that it is a self-defense tool. Designed to look like a real cell phone, this device emits a powerful 4.5 million volts that can render an attacker helpless. Moreover, its 12 LED flashlight is always helpful in the dark.

I do not have to fear accidentally triggering stunguns when I do not mean to since they are usually equipped with a protective switch. With only three CR2 batteries, I can make this Pretender stun gun work.

During the medical mission, all the volunteers made a system to attend to every patient in a smooth manner. But there were some men who tried to cause confusion in the process.

I requested the men to please allow for the patients to stay nearer our stations. But they got mad and tried to harass me. As one grabbed my shoulders, I immediately touched him with one of my disguised stunguns. After that, no one tried to trouble us.

Larry A Piers is a positive believer in being prepared rather than being sorry. He offers an immense array of self defense products to keep you safe from offenders. Products include pepper sprays, stun guns, personal alarms, Mace and Tasers.

Everyone who wants to learn jiu jitsu knows how vital it is to learn quickly. For those of you who have been in training for awhile, you already know you have to progress quickly to survive. You probably already know a few moves like a sweep or a submission, but it is hard to get better because you can’t use these moves on other people in your class. You can grapple for hours on end, but it’s not making you progress quickly enough.

Here is the solution, and don’t worry, it is not about mastering a new awesome submission or unbeatable guard that the other jiu jitsu students won’t already know about. To really get better you need to train with a purpose.

As you’ve undoubtedly heard before, if you do not make a plan you will not succeed. So to get better, make a plan, WRITE THE PLAN DOWN, and every day take a step towards reaching that plan. You should not deviate from your plan until your reach your goal. Remember: PUT YOUR PLAN IN WRITING! You must believe me about this!

A lot of people training in jiu jitsu just want to have a great guard or have great submissions. These are admirable goals, but you must break everything down to the details. A more concrete goal would be something like “keep side control for at least 15 seconds on every opponent”. Another would be “Bump sweep each partner”. You will be able to measure your success and take actions toward meeting the goals. If you make smaller, reachable goals you will be more likely to meet your ultimate goals faster.

It’s time to mentally enter the BJJ arena. Develop a plan, a plan just for you, and work to meet your goals. Start every class reminding yourself of your personal goal and make it happen. You are not going to be better instantaneously, and patience will still be required, however you will get there! After you attain a few of your smaller goals, you will recognize your success and you will ask yourself why you didn’t start doing this sooner.

I know, kickboxing karate doesn’t really exist, but it does make a fine translation of arts. When you shift from karate to kickboxing, or shift from kickboxing back to karate, you can win every single contest you are in by knowing the three things I am going to tell you in this article. We are dealing only with the fists, mind you, so you have to control the distance to make sure that you stay at a distance that is comfortable for you to punch at.

If you are going to try to use this data with kicks we would have to set up an art called karate tae kwon do…grin. Or, if you were going to use it with fancy hand traps we might call it shaolin kickboxing. Call it what you will, the techniques will work, but you might have to make some changes.

Before we get started I should tell you about the set up for the three techniques. The set up is to have the hands extended, palms facing outward, elbows about 135 degrees, so that the hands are in front of the shoulders. This, incidentally, is a universal peace sign, an ‘I don’t want to fight,’ which is a good thing because it is better to avoid a fight in the first place.

The basic concept here is that two objects can’t be in the same place in space. Go on, shove one table through another table. You’ll just end up with fire wood.

First Technique, he is going to have to go around your fist and arms, and you can defend with a hard block and punch. This isn’t a counter strike, this is done simultaneous with a slight body shift/sidestep maneuver. You will have taken the initiative of the fight and can follow up with an attack on the inside line.

Second technique, he is going to try shifting to the front and leading with a jab, and you can just let him pass and punch on his body. With either of these two techniques your opponent is trying to go around you, and this will set him up by shutting his weapons down, or opening his targets up. Either way, you win.

Third technique, and this is the one we want, is when he tries to go between your hands. He can be blocked easily, and, the potential for trapping him, simply by closing your hands, is large. You trap his elbow and his wrist and work an arm bar, and when he tries to back out, or otherwise wiggle, you elbow roll him, and you can work elbow spikes and secondary punches, all while keeping him trapped and unable to fight back.

This fighting technique can further be improved by shifting the body or changing the distance between your palms, thus encouraging your attacker to do exactly what you want. In other words, you will have created the path of his entry, and nobody is easier to beat than a fighter who is predictable. So, there you go, that is how you actually apply matrixing concepts to the first moves of a fight, and when you win that battle just tell everybody you study kickboxing karate…heh.

The first time I ever looked into someone elses mind was in San Francisco. My wife and I were meandering through the shops in Chinatown, and we entered a shop where a grouchy old Chinese lady sat on a stool in a corner. As we peered at the various odds and ends, the grumpy one snapped at her daughter, “Look, look, look, everybody just look!”

Walking down the street after we left the store, I asked my wife, “Did you hear what that old lady said?” “How could I,” my wife peered up at me intently. “I don’t understand Chinese.”

Speaking in Chinese, and I had heard her in English. In essence, I had read her mind and translated her thoughts into English. And I could do this, I instantly knew, because of the martial arts I had been studying.

The mind is like a big radio transmitter, but it transmits, and picks up, thoughts. The sad fact, however, is that the mind is always full of static. Children can usually read minds, but they outgrow the ability and don’t even remember it when they are adults.

In the martial arts you use the discipline of the body to clear out the distractions and static. You do this by focusing on making the moves of your form perfect. Eventually, the distractive static goes away, and the original ability to read minds is once again unleashed.

The problem, of course, is that the martial arts are so messed up that it is difficult to find a form, or series of forms, that work in the proper manner. Oddly, almost any form can work if it is properly analyzed, and tweaked so that it is scientific and true. This normally takes a tremendous amount of work, occurring over a lifetime, but the process can be sped up if one looks to the proper science.

Interestingly, the old Taoist writings of such arts as Tai Chi and other Wudang arts, speak of being like a child in your approach to the world. I also saw mention of this concept in works of Zen Buddhism. Unfortunately, by the time one resurrects this ability one has become old.

Nevertheless, the old stories are true, the martial arts really do work, and in ways heightened far above fighting. Indeed, though the martial arts teach people how to defend themselves against attackers, abilities like reading minds are the real start. And the beginning of the start, for most people, is simply walking through the doors of that neighborhood training hall and learning a little Tae Kwon do or Hapkido or Shaolin.

Al Case, 4O years studying martial arts, has written a free ebook which explains the Martial Technology for fixing the martial arts. It is available at his website, Monster Martial Arts.

I don't care how much muscle the other guy has, if you have speed, then you are going to win. If he throws a punch, you are fast enough to block or step out of the way. If you throw a punch, it is faster than his block.

I don’t care how much muscle the other guy has, if you have speed, then you are going to win. If he throws a punch, you are fast enough to block or step out of the way. If you throw a punch, it is faster than his block.

Do you understand how important speed is? Yet, the sad fact is that nobody ever teaches speed. Nobody ever teaches you the specialized techniques or drills that result in your becoming able to move your body faster and faster.

To be honest, to took me nearly seven years of dedicated discipline and practice in a couple of different disciplines to become fast in the martial arts. That’s almost seven years of forms and techniques and freestyle and bruises and work and exhaustion and lot of dues. And I knew there had to be a better way to get to where I was going.

I first became cognizant of the speed available through martial arts through the first move of the form Botsai. That is the move where you do a three blocks quick, and the body protests because you are trying to make it do large movements to handle simple movements. And that concept, doing much to handle little is one of the keys to becoming faster.

Simply, if you absolutely and positively have to do something…then, with practice, you become able to do so. In Bot Sai somebody is firing three simply attacks at me, and I have to respond with three large circles of the arms, complete with hip twisting and stance changing. I have to do it, and, because I have to do it, I am able to do it.

So to get faster through the older training methods, you have to set up a problem to be solved, then train your body over a period of time. There are like methods in other martial arts. And there are some arts which opt for simple movements, but then they lose out on the twisting of the hips and the resulting generation of power.

But I did realize something crucial in this matter of speed through my experience and observations in the traditional arts, and that something is commonly termed visualization. Assume a posture, be there and only there, and forget about being anywhere else. When you have forgotten the posture you are in enough, be in another position, and don’t have any thought or effort in between the two postures.

The idea here is to take out the ideas of weight and movement that is inherent in the way you move your body. Be here…then be there, and don’t have anything in between. It’s a zen approach to the practice of the martial arts, and it still takes some work, but by backing up your Karate sweat with a bit of mental attention and intention, it is possible to speed up your hands in months instead of years.

Al Case has studied martial arts for over forty plus+ years. You can find out about Mastering Speed and other theories he has developed over the years by picking up a free ebook at Monster Martial Arts.

Originally developed in China these fire-arm replicas look and feel like the real thing. The idea stemmed from China, where firearms had been eliminated in the civilian sector. This elimination caused many people who desired to collect firearms to seek a way to have replicas that closely resembled the original items. Airsoft guns were the answer to this desire for firearm replicas. These guns that use small round pellets have developed to the point they are standardized and produced in a limited number of calipers.

Airsoft guns can be powered by battery, pump action or gas. After getting their start in China these reproduction firearms got popular in Japan and other parts of the orient and Europe and then eventually found their way to the United States. Although they were originaly intended to satisfy collectors they have since become an important part of a worldwide craze.

Airsoft guns are manufactured in China, Japan and other oriental countries. Air soft gun manufacturers have become more popular in an attempt to supply the ever growing desire for these replicas. Guns that are sold to the United States are required to have distinctive orange markings.

While these guns started out as toys, they have been adapted for use by police departments and militaries. Airsoft guns make it possible for training to occur without having to use real weapons. These training airsoft guns are produced as exact replicas on a 1:1 scale. Meaning these weapons look and weigh the same as the original.

While they are a variety of methods of play with air soft guns, the one method of play that seems to have gained the most attention is known as MilSim, or military simulation play. This game is much as it sounds an elaborate reproduction of military war games, complete with radios, explosives and even rations. These well planned out scenarios can take several days to play out and require all players to be in exact uniforms.

With replica m16’s and other traditional military weapons these battles can often look like the real thing since players are often required to dress in particular military uniforms. In other cases the players wear regular civilian clothing rather than fatigues. These skirmishes where the players wear civilian clothing are called skirmish in silly kit or SISK.

Players have to be honest when it comes to whether they have been hit since airsoft pellets are small rubber balls and not paint packed balls, as is used in paint ball guns. Paint ball is another popular war like game played with authentic looking guns that fire paint balls that leave marks on their targets and victims. Since Airsoft ammunition does not leave these marks often it is up to the player to admit that they have been hit.

Some states and cities have started to implement regulations about the possession of these toys, including Newark New Jersey and Chicago Illinois. Since they are often almost totally unidentifiable from the authentic weapon ordinances have had to be put in place to control the use of these replicas in urban areas.

These mock-up semi-automatics can be found at many retail outlets and can be commonly found at flea markets and swap meets. Another popular way to locate these weapons is at kiosks in malls and even at some sporting goods retailers. Airsoft guns can also be found via the internet at a variety of retailers that over large selections of guns and other associated items.

Author: Anthoy Carter is very into the sport of airsoft and is very knowlegdeable about airsoft guns. Visit this website to find the best place to find airsoft guns.
